ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (NABL) Certification for Atmospheric Pollution

Atmospheric Pollution
The atmospheric pollution is one of the most burning problems of the world nowadays. The pollution is causes such drastic changes in the critical environmental factors such as temperature. The atmospheric pollution occurs when there are excess of harmful substances are released in to the atmosphere due to natural causes or human causes. This causes the increase in the concentration of various gases and particles in the atmosphere such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide and many others that are not only harmful for the environment but also for human health.

Causes of Atmospheric Pollution
The atmospheric pollution is cause by both man made and natural causes. The natural causes for air pollution include volcanic eruptions, wild fires, methane emissions from animal digestion as well as from earth, radioactive decay of elements in earth is core. In addition to the natural causes, there are also extensive human causes that lead to air pollution such as industrial emission, vehicular emission, deforestation, construction activities, chemical fumes and aerosols, domestic smoke, energy production and so forth.

Adverse impact of Atmospheric Pollution
Pollution has many adverse impacts on the environment. Due to increase in concentration of toxic gases in the atmosphere, the temperature of the atmosphere increases gradually. This increase in temperature is due to greenhouse effect. This phenomenon of increases in temperature of atmosphere is termed as global warming. Due to global warming, the glaciers have been melting and this has led to disturbance in the climatic pattern all over the world which is not good for life on earth. It also impacts the wildlife to a great extent.

The increase in air pollution also has an adverse impact on the health of human being. It causes a many respiratory problems such as lung cancer, bronchitis, asthma and so forth. In addition to that, it also leads to acid rain which causes the contamination of the water bodies that then is transferred to the humans and causes many other diseases.

Testing of Atmospheric Pollution
As the air pollution has a deep and adverse impact on the environment as well as the human health, the regulatory authorities are very strict regarding the regulation of air pollutants that are being released in the atmosphere. It is mandatory for the industries to get their emission samples tested in a recognised lab so that this could be ensured that the emission to the atmosphere is limited to the prescribed limits. This helps in keeping the atmospheric pollution under control.

It is important that the laboratory that tests the samples for emission for atmospheric pollution, must be accredited by NABL and has certification for ISO 17025: 2017. This is the international standard that is set for testing laboratories and prescribes the system that must be placed to ensure the best testing procedures and accurate testing results. When a sample is tested in an accredited laboratory, it is also satisfactory for the industries that the emission by them is under limits.
