Marine / Aquaculture Food Products
Aquaculture is the process of breading, rearing and harvesting of sea animals for food produce. This includes different types of fish, shellfish, algae and other water organisms in different types of aqueous environment. In the recent years, the demand for seafood has increased rapidly across the globe. Types of Aquaculture 
Aquaculture is classified in two main types that are marine and freshwater. The marine aquaculture deals with the farming of the food species that live in oceans or saline water whereas the freshwater Aquaculture deals with production of species that live in freshwater bodies such as rivers and lakes. 
The marine Aquaculture produces numerous species of sea life such as oysters, lobsters, clams, mussels, seaweeds and fishes like sablefish, black sea bass, salmon, and pompano.

Methods of Aquaculture
There are majorly two methods of Aquaculture adopted in the world that are Mariculture and Integrated.

Mariculture
The mariculture is the method of Aquaculture in which the cultivation of organisms in sheltered coastal or offshore water bodies. Farming of marine fishes and crustaceans such as shrimp is the example of mariculture. Mariculture may include the cultivation of organisms in the artificial enclosures such as floating nets or racks. Sometimes organisms are cultivated on artificially formed reefs consuming the seaweed that is grown on the reef naturally. 

Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture
The Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture or IMTA is the method of Aquaculture where the by-products or waste of one cultivation is used as the input for the other cultivation. In this method the fed Aquaculture such as fish is combined with the inorganic extractive as well as the organic extractive to create a balanced system. The multi-trophic means taking species from different systems with different nutrition levels and cultivating them in the same system.
